No Cooling? Here’s Our Emergency Checklist

We’ve all been there—your air conditioner suddenly clicks off, the air stops flowing from your vents, and you start panicking because the heatwave has only just arrived. Before you run to the hills and give up on your home cooling, we’ve got an emergency checklist that can help you get things on track quickly.

We want to be completely honest and tell you that air conditioning systems are complex. You should never open up your system and try to perform AC repair in Columbia Valley on your own. Not only will this void the warranty of your system, but it will also cause a multitude of problems and most likely make things worse.

The most important step on this checklist is to call us, because we’re a team of certified professionals that will always get the job done right. Let’s see what else you can do to get your home cooled down and comfortable in the meantime.

Don’t Panic

We know that this phrase can kind of be a joke sometimes, but in this instance we really mean it. If anyone knows how difficult of a situation losing your AC on a hot summer’s day is, it’s us. We’re the professionals when it comes to AC repair, so we know what we’re doing. As long as you follow our guide, you’ll be in good hands and we promise you’ll be comfortable.

Step 1: Do a Little Bit of Maintenance

First of all, there are a few things you can do as a homeowner to improve your air conditioner’s functionality, and you should always start there. Try replacing the air filter in your air conditioner, wiping away any contaminants and dust that might have settled on it. This will improve airflow and it might even solve your problem enough to get you through the rest of the summer.

Secondly, clean around your system and make sure there’s enough space around your air conditioner’s outdoor coil. This will ensure there’s maximum airflow and allow your system to breathe. An overheating air conditioner is one of the worst problems to encounter in the summer.

Step 2: Call Us for Repairs

Whether it’s before or after you take the steps we listed above, you always want to call our team to help. We have a team of trained, licensed, and certified professionals who know how to pinpoint a problem to its source and fix it. We won’t judge you and we won’t make you feel like you’ve neglected your system, we’ll just get right to the bottom of it so we can keep your home comfortable.

Step 3: Stay Cool

While you’re waiting for our help, it’s vital that you keep your home comfortable and safe. Drink lots of water and try refrigerating some of that water so it keeps you cool. Utilize ceiling fans, and make sure to use your blinds and curtains to block out as much sunlight as you can. Each of these little things can lower the temperature of your home by a couple of degrees and keep you feeling comfortable.
